Frequently
Asked Questions |
If I order seeds when can I expect to receive them?
We try to send out seeds within a few days of receiving the order but at exceptionally busy times of the year it can take as long as two weeks. |
When can I expect to receive plantlets?
Plantlets are available from mid-March to mid-May. The deadline for ordering for mid-March to mid-April delivery is Feb 15th and for mid-April to mid May delivery is March 28th. Please choose the month that suits you best. |
I have a heated greenhouse. Which delivery time should I choose?
You should be fine with mid-march to April but you might need to put up some protective fleece or bubble wrap if there is a danger of frost. |
I do not have a greenhouse. Which delivery time should I choose?
You should go for the later time.

What happens if you do not have the variety I have chosen?
With seeds, normally we substitute with the nearest variety unless you specify otherwise on your order form. With plants, unless you have ordered 6 of one variety and specify no substitutes we will substitute with the most suitable. |
Do you have a minimum quantity for ordering?
We do not have a minimum quantity order for seeds, but do charge a 50p small order charge for orders under £5. We do ask you to order plants in groups of 6 as that is how our packaging is based. You can mix a plant order e.g. 1 tomato, 1 aubergine, 1 pepper, 1 cucumber, 1 melon, 1 courgette. A mixed plant pack costs £7.50 but 6 of the same variety e.g. 6 Friar’s Hat peppers is £6.00. |
Can you mail to outside the UK?
We will send seeds outside the UK but only within the EC. An extra postage charge is made of 50p per order if the order is only for small seeds, e.g. tomatoes. If you are ordering heavy seeds, e.g. peas and beans, then we add between 25-50p for each heavy pack.
We regret we do not send plantlets outside the UK as they get too delayed and damaged. |
